Whether we like it or not, we need to remember that it is better than any place else in the world. Why would people risk their lives to cross the desert southwest in the summer to work in agriculture? Why have Cubans for years risked their lives to cross the Gulf of Mexico in glorified rafts to get to the US? And to do it illegally, well, they are criminals once they cross our borders. As such, we need to treat them like it, plain and simple. If you do the crime…
I for one am proud, given the attacks on both sides, we can have open dialog. It is critical, regardless of political affiliation, to speak out on what we think is wrong. Too bad the recent administration feels that opposition is the equivelant of hate speach. Its interesting that when the liberals yell at town halls/public meetings that they espouse the need to have their free speech.
Do I like the Huffington Post and other simiar slam sites (both conservative and liberal)? No. It is such a shame that there are those who cannot report on the FACTs. Oh well. However, the “reporters” do have their right to speak out. That is what makes our country great!
Without the founding fathers foresite, we would be no better than Venezuela or other dictatorships. If that is what people want, the US allows folks to leave and go live there. If you do not like the US – get the hell out!
