Holy Cow – the Flu

Well, the last few days I have been suffering from the flu! No, Not
Bird Flu, but some bug that has been running through my area. Unlike
others, my syptoms have been headaches for the last few days and since
my brain is mushy to say the least – its hard to focus. Lets see if
the next round of meds help.

As for suffering through the flu, surviving is a challenge that us
Urban (and non-urban) folks need to suffer through. Personally, I like
to take my Ibuprofen, gatoraid/water and sleep alot. That might be of
help.

Now, my Dad a few years ago asked about what to do for the bird flu.
He has a place in the Philippine’s, so the concern is real. So, we got
some good dust masks (P95′s) and latex gloves and set him up with a
years supply of food (he has water onsite from a well.) The only
challenge is meds (after all, he is in his mid 70′s!) So, when he has
to go into town (ten bazillion people) he knows to get in, wear his
mask and gloves and get out.
